About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our contentious trusts and probate team at Aaron’s.

Ideally you will have 5+ years PQE. You will have extensive experience in contentious probate and a commercial approach in working to deadlines, file management, client care, etc.

You will have experience with handling cases in the high court and mediation.

You will be a confident person with excellent communication skills who is at ease when dealing with clients; ensuring that each client receives an excellent level of service.

You will have the ability to manage your workload; managing a number of cases at any one time. You will also have an excellent eye for detail and the desire to get things right first time. 

You will have a willingness and aptitude in getting involved in the team/firm’s marketing and business development activities e.g. attending social and networking events (usually with colleagues).

 

About the Team

Our highly regarded Wills, Trusts and Tax team has an enviable reputation and is highly ranked in the independent legal guide The Legal 500.  The contentious probate section of the team specialises in all areas of contentious probate work including will challenges, claims under the Inheritance Act, trust disputes, proprietary estoppel claims and the removal of executors and trustees.

Head of department, Clive Pointon, is an expert in the field, regularly speaking at seminars about making wills, mitigating inheritance tax and protecting assets. Clive is also a Notary Public and advises on international estates with contacts in many countries. James Wallace leads the contentious side of the team and is experienced in contentious probate matters, obtaining excellent results for clients, both in and out of court. 

All members of the team are either involved with STEP or ACTAPS, both of which reflect the high quality and complex work that the team undertakes for its clients.

Hours of work & Benefits

This position is a full time position working from 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday at our Shrewsbury office.
