The opportunity

Our HR team plays an important role in supporting the firm and maintaining a positive, professional and collaborative working environment across the business.

You will join the firm as a People Advisor, working closely with the HR Manager and wider People team to support a broad range of day-to-day HR activities within a busy and evolving professional environment.

You will work closely with colleagues and Team Leaders across the firm, providing practical support and guidance on a wide range of people matters while helping to ensure consistency, professionalism and a positive employee experience.

This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, builds strong working relationships, and is confident managing responsibilities independently while remaining part of a collaborative team.

What you will be doing

You will support a broad range of HR activities, including:

  • Providing professional support and guidance on HR matters, employment law and best practice
  • Advising Team Leaders and employees on people matters across the employment lifecycle
  • Supporting employee relations matters, including absence management, grievances, disciplinaries, flexible working requests and performance management
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies in line with employment law developments
  • Supporting the processing of monthly payroll alongside the HR Manager and People & Talent Advisor
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and supporting people metrics reporting
  • Assisting with HR projects and wellbeing initiatives
  • Building positive relationships with colleagues across the firm

About you

We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised and confident supporting a wide range of people matters within a professional environment.

You will:

  • Ideally be part or fully CIPD qualified
  • Have previous practical experience working in a generalist HR role
  • Be confident supporting managers with employee relations matters
  • Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Be professional, approachable and confident dealing with employees and third parties
  • Have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Be organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a busy environment
  • Demonstrate a proactive, positive and collaborative approach
  • Be flexible and willing to travel regularly between offices where required

Working pattern & benefits

This is a full-time role based at our Chester office, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, with occasional travel to other offices and locations.
