Sale of Invertek Drives Limited to Sumitomo Heavy Industries Limited The acquisition of Invertek Drives Ltd by Sumitomo Heavy Industries Limited (SHI) was a significant milestone in the 21-year history of Invertek. To continue our growth in the globally competitive variable frequency drives market we knew we would need significant external investment, and this would be achieved through the sale. However, we wanted to ensure the global recognition of Invertek’s brand and reputation for innovation and manufacturing excellence was not only maintained but strengthened by any new owner. SHI recognised the value of Invertek, our people and products. We had worked with Stuart Scott-Goldstone for several years and the board/shareholders had great confidence that he was the right person with the right team around him to lead them through the sale process positively and professionally. The Sale of Meredith (UK) Ltd I have worked with Stuart on a number of transactions over the last twenty five years and have a very strong working relationship with him.  Most recently, he assisted me with the sale of Meredith (UK) Ltd, the care home group I established and have grown for the last thirty years. With an opportunity to sell our group of companies based on both sides of the “Pond” and with the buyer being based in the United States, we needed assistance to complete the UK side of the sale. The initial steps were complicated as there was a corporate reorganisation to deal with before the sale could go ahead.
