Biography
Katy Seago is a Partner in the Restructuring & Insolvency Team. Katy is based in our Greater Manchester office, having joined Aaron & Partners in 2024 after spending over 10 years at the Manchester office of a top tier international law firm.
Katy specialises in all non-contentious aspects of corporate recovery, restructuring, turnaround and insolvency, and has a wealth of experience advising insolvency practitioners, banks, asset based lenders, directors, shareholders and other stakeholders in relation to financially distressed situations. Katy has broad experience across a number of sectors including retail, manufacturing and industrial sectors, with a particular interest in the distressed real estate sector where she acts for financial institutions, funds, insolvency practitioners and fixed charge receivers on the management and disposal of high value real estate assets and property portfolios. She also specialises in advising banks and other financial institutions on the terms of financial agreements and the enforcement of security and has significant transactional experience. She is praised by clients for her “pragmatic and commercial” approach to distressed M&A work.
Katy is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion within the legal profession and the wider Restructuring market. She is the co-chair of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation North West committee and was instrumental in the network’s successful regional launch in April 2023, organising a number of successful networking events that have been attended by hundreds of clients and contacts within the Restructuring community.
As a local resident Katy is proud to support the growth of Aaron & Partners’ Altrincham office. Outside of work she enjoys socialising, outdoor swimming and travelling to remote and usually freezing cold places with her family.
