Biography
Helen has extensive experience in all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, including negotiating and drafting, TUPE disputes and large-scale redundancies, trade union disputes, discrimination and harassment cases, and Employment Tribunal representation. Helen has always undertaken all of her own advocacy at tribunals and gained higher rights of audience in 2005.
Helen Watson advises clients in both the public and private sectors on contentious and non-contentious employment matters and is one of only a few Employment Law solicitors in the region using her Higher Rights of Audience and as such is a highly regarded Advocate.
Helen has a Masters degree in discrimination law and secured a very successful remedy at tribunal for a national Respondent client facing a £1 million race discrimination claim. She has also recently led the team in advising and representing an International Automotive client through a significant UK restructure which was in the National press.
Alongside this Helen is a Workplace Investigator and fully qualified Workplace Mediator and carries out regular internal and external accredited training for clients.
Helen studied at Abbey Gate School and Abbey Gate College, Chester before completing a Criminology and French at Keele University. She then returned to Chester College of Law to do her Law Finals. Helen has a Masters degree in Industrial Relations and Employment Law. After successfully developing her earlier career at two other law firms, Helen joined Aaron & Partners in early 2007 as a partner and Head of Employment.
Helen is Company Secretary and Board Member of IAG (International Advisory Group), Honorary Ambassador of Claire House Children’s Hospice (after serving on the Board for over 11 years, latterly as Chair).
Other posts include Chair at Theatre Clwyd (currently undergoing a £50 million capital project) and IoD North Wales Ambassador (previously Chair). Helen holds several other Board Advisor and NED roles.
