Emma is a Partner and the Head of our Real Estate team who provides her clients with expert guidance on matters concerning commercial property law.
Background and Expertise
Emma qualified as a solicitor in April 1993, completing her training in the City of London. After qualifying, Emma spent time working for several law firms in the north west of England before joining Aaron & Partners in 2011 as a Partner. Emma later returned to the firm in 2018, assuming the position as Partner and Head of Real Estate.
Specialisms and Personal Achievements
Emma's primary focus lies in commercial real estate. Her extensive experience includes handling leases, property acquisitions and disposals, site development, and property portfolio management. Emma has expertise in food retail development working with a major retailer.
Emma’s client base includes international companies investing in the UK, large private companies, SMEs, developers and property investors.
Emma's success is attributed to her extensive knowledge, engaging communication style, and the ability to deliver favourable solutions for her clients. With recognition from the Legal 500, Emma has been awarded ‘Leading Individual’ and ‘Recommended Lawyer’ in the 2024 rankings.
Beyond her legal work, Emma serves on the board of the Business Improvement District for Chester city centre and actively participates in initiatives to promote the City of Chester.
Recent Work Examples
- Dealing with site acquisition, development agreements on a developer led scheme, managing ongoing property issues, letting of property and ultimately, disposal of redundant sites for a supermarket business.
- Assisting a machinery business to relocate to warehouse premises more suited to its current operational needs by exiting its premises and taking a new lease on a site owned by the same landlord elsewhere. It was important to wrap up liability for dilapidations in respect of the old site as part of the deal.
- Acting for landowners on the sale of sites for residential development.
- Representing investors acquiring sites as a development opportunity adjacent to an existing local centre and a trade park.
